Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, requested authorities to do something to safeguard the state’s unique cattle species like Ongole bull, Punganur cow, Nellore sheep, besides other rare wild birds and creatures based in the forests of Chittoor and Anantapur districts.

He stressed the necessity to take the idea of bio-diversity to schools, schools, maqui berry farmers, tribals and towns. Also, he wanted the plantation of medicinal and aromatic plants to become adopted, based on a release released through the chief minister's office here today.

Andhra Pradesh is endowed having a wealthy bio-diversity of plants and creatures. You will find 103 types of animals, 365 types of wild birds, 78 types of reptiles, 21 types of amphibians 901 types of fishes and 3150 types of plants.

The federal government produced a network-integrated protected system covering four biotic provinces with 6 nature, 21 wildlife sanctuaries, a biosphere reserve all spread over 13,000 sq km of forest area, the discharge stated.

The main ninister was informed that about 1220 associates from 164 nations took part in the bio-diversity convention held here within the last four days.
